Not all Internet RFCs are standards.
Internet standards are subject to
extensive review and testing. A good

Before a proposal or note becomes an
RFC, it is set down as an Internet Draft
(I-D) and discussed in various forums,
often working groups of the IETF.
Because I-Ds are often rough drafts and
subject to major changes, they are
described in a different document.
This is an experiment in trying to classify the RFCs. There are two different
attempts here, the generalized approach and the specific protocol approach.
This page is the generalized approach. It is a crude attempt to automatically
categorize the RFCs by keywords. It is far from perfect as seen by the
large number of Unclassified RFCs listed below.
